Paste vs. Ink

What to use paste or ink on and their purposes.

Paste

The paste is water-soluble and is very easy to remove with water.

  • Can layer colors (wax in between layers)
  • Can add glitter while the paste is wet
  • Dries by heat set or air dry

Paste’s Shelf Life:

  • UNOPENED – 1 year
  •  OPENED is 6 months

If the paste is thick, you can add A LITTLE BIT of DISTILLED WATER. Stir well!!

DO NOT use tap water because it will cause the paste to become moldy after some time.

DO NOT FREEZE!

Please make sure the rim edge is clean before you put the lid back on.  It will help the lid to seal the jar.  Also, make sure you keep the foam liner!

Ink

This is permanent chalk ink once it is heat set. CAN NOT be removed afterward.

How to heat set:

  • Using Iron
    • Heat set 4 minutes on BOTH sides with MEDIUM setting
    • Keep the iron moving all the time
  • Cricut Easy Press
    • 305 degree for 20 seconds on both sides
  • Toaster Oven
    • Wait 48-72 hours for the ink to dry a bit
    • Non-fabric items that can handle the heat in a medium oven, 300-350 degrees
    • Put the item in a COLD oven then turn on the oven
    • When it is done, turn off the oven. LEAVE the item inside the oven while it cools down

When you’re working with fabric. ALWAYS protect your fabric and your heat tool by using parchment paper between the fabric and the heat tool.

NOTE OF WARNING:
